ABOUT US
Ambika is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker, originally from Mumbai, who grew up in India and the US. As someone who has lived in eight countries and visited 75, her mission is to create multi-cultural comedic content that not only entertains but also challenges stereotypes and forces audiences to ponder their beliefs and biases.
A CPA and an MBA, Ambika left her Private Equity career in 2018 to pursue her dreams full-time. In 2020, her sketch comedy videos caught the attention of Indian comedian, Cyrus Broacha, who asked her to join the #1 Indian Political Satire TV show as a Foreign Correspondent. She wrote, directed and produced her own segments for 30 episodes that aired on CNN-India.
She has appeared on several TV shows including Alaska Daily and A Million Little Things and in 50+ commercials. Additionally, as a writer, she participated in the Pacific Screenwriting Program’s Pitch Accelerator and has worked for shows such as Family Law, Children Ruin Everything and ZARQA. She has directed two short films which she also wrote and acted in.
She is a graduate of Upright Citizens Brigade (LA), the Peoples Improv Theater (NY) and the Comedy School (London). She also has an MBA from INSEAD (France), and a Masters and Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
Sossina is an Ethiopian-born filmmaker whose worldview has been shaped by a life lived between cultures and continents—from Nairobi, Montreal, Paris, Hong Kong, and now Vancouver. Moving between worlds has given her a particular sensitivity to the complexities of identity, belonging, and the often-unspoken ways we are shaped by culture. She is drawn to stories that challenge conventional cultural representations, and reveal the humour, contradictions, and emotional truths of everyday life.
Sossina spent more than two decades shaping global brands in senior strategy roles across multiple countries, including with leading LVMH maisons. From developing narrative-driven campaigns to producing branded films, she built a strong foundation in storytelling, creative strategy, and audience engagement across cultures.
Driven by a lifelong passion for storytelling, she transitioned into filmmaking, bringing with her sharp business acumen, creative leadership, and extensive international project management experience. In 2025, she and Ambika co-founded SAVS Production Limited to champion underrepresented voices in mainstream media and create culturally nuanced stories with global resonance.
A working actor with television and commercial credits, Sossina brings a holistic perspective that bridges performance, narrative, and strategy. The Edge and Sage Advice marked her producing debut, with Past Curfew currently in development.
